Not Your Riot Squad

Americans didn’t enlist in the National Guard to moonlight as a federal police force for a politician having a bad news cycle. Our Guard fights fires, rescues families, and rebuilds communities—under the governor’s command—not as a standing “quick reaction” crowd-control unit in camo. We have a Constitution, not a cosplay catalog. The Posse Comitatus tradition exists for a reason, and the Guard’s dual status isn’t a loophole to federalize protest policing because someone wants tougher B-roll.
America will always cooperate in real emergencies. But turning neighbors with day jobs and uniforms into a national riot squad is a hard pass. Public safety and civil liberty are not mutually exclusive—we can protect both. If Washington wants to test that, they can read the law, read federalism, and if necessary, we’ll see them in court.
